3 Former NH Avs Selected in 2021 NHL Entry Draft

The NH Avalanche was thrilled to see 3 of their alumni selected in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft this past weekend. It’s few and far between having an NHL draft pick come through your system, but to have 3 in 1 draft is an amazing feat.

First up, Nate Benoit, who played a few years of youth hockey with the Avs and will be attending the University of North Dakota was drafted by the Minnesota Wild.

Next up, lifelong Av Alex Gagne was selected by the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Alex will be attending UNH next season and is in the running to make the USA World Junior Team.

Sticking with New Hampshire, the Lightning selected former long time Avalanche player Cooper Flinton. Cooper is committed to play college Hockey at Dartmouth.

Founded in 2018, the United Tier 1 Hockey League was designed to bring half season & full season teams together for a competitive balanced schedule. The schedule includes weekend home/away games & highlighted with  three yearly showcases designed to provide maximum exposure for its member organizations and their players.
