May 5th, 2023, Massachusetts. – The United Tier 1 Hockey League is excited to welcome its newest program the Northwood School out of Lake Placid, NY at the Olympic village of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. Northwood School is an accredited independent school placing student-athletes in select colleges and universities that offers year-round training with ample access to ice, a fitness center, and individual video analysis. The objective of the program is to enhance development of hockey skills, deepen knowledge of the game, prepare to play at the college level, personal growth and expanded self-confidence, the ability to set and work toward goals as a team and develop leadership skills.

“We are incredibly excited to be adding a program with such a profound history of excellence and tradition in the Northwood School.  Adding a team in New York also helps strengthen the schedule for our travel partners while bringing our league footprint up to 11 States and 3 Canadian Provinces keeping our goal of a diverse schedule intact” Commissioner Dennis McCauley

Head Coach and Dartmouth Alumni Jeff Miller had this to say about joining the UT1HL “We are thrilled to join the United Tier 1 Hockey League for the 2023-24 hockey season.  We have been looking for a strong league to partner with and feel we have found that with the UT1HL. We are looking forward to participating in their showcases, being challenged against top end teams and aiding our players by showcasing them in highly scouted events”
